A few years ago, I purchased a book from the Scholastic book fair at my son’s elementary school, and it has became an all time favorite of mine. Scholastic (or whoever is in charge of this) is very smart in organizing book fairs close to Halloween. Portal Adventure Club

Last summer, I woke up from a dream where I had discovered time travel! In my dream, a few friends and I (we were children) had discovered a portal that sometimes appears on posters. One of our friends had gone into a portal alone, the rest of us scrambled together and went after him. Once we were on the other side, the portal closed and we were stuck. We were in a little general store where the store keeper served us a sample of a pastry. The pastry popped out of the bottom of a toaster type oven and was the most delicious thing I had ever tasted. The crust was crispy and warm and the filling was sweet and fruity. It reminded me of the breakfast foods we sometimes eat at my house, only a million times better. Anyway, when I woke up, I wrote a story. Continue reading
